Both of these are definitely worth while when you have a bit of time on your hands.
Affiliate programs this is great for getting visitors to your website and also as a method of getting good quality backlinks. This can be expensive though, but if you already have an affiliate program then hey just add your websites URL.
Directory submission is another way of building backlinks, this will hardly ever increase your traffic much well definitely not in the short term, but you may see an increase in backlinks to your website.
Leaving comments on relevant websites can act as a great way of receiving them quality backlinks you have been after, however it takes a lot of time and can sometimes not be worth it.
Backlinking ideas you should avoid I believe are link exchanges this can be very suspicious from Google’s eyes, and especially buying backlinks and I strongly advise you not to spend your money on buying these, especially in there tens and thousands as this would most definitely be seen as being suspicious. This probably wont affect your website in any negative ways, however it wont be worth the money and time you spend bartering with the dealer.
